Peshko and McNabb Lead Owen Sound To Second Straight Victory

The Oakville Rock (4-4) visited the Owen Sound North Stars (2-8) at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound, Ontario Saturday afternoon in Major Series Lacrosse action.

Recently the Rock have had a difficult time, dropping three in a row. They were hoping that this game would change their trajectory heading into the playoffs.  Owen Sound just earned their first win Thursday night against the Brampton Excelsiors.  Defensively they have been strong, and if the offense is coming around, they could be quite dangerous.

The goaltending match-up had Nick Rose in net for Oakville facing Kaleb Martin in net for the North Stars.

In a very tight checking game, the Owen Sound North Stars got off to a strong start getting up 3-1 afrer one period on the strength of a pair of goals from Jake McNabb.

Oakville battled in the second and third periods tying the game up on three seperate occasions.  To The North Stars credit, they kept battling, scoring both a power-play and a shorthanded goal in their 9-8 victory.

Jonathan Peshko (3g,1a) and Jake McNabb (3g,1a) led the way for Owen Sound.  Andrew Kew (3g,1a) and Ryan Lanchbury (4g,2a) were the majority of offense for the Rock.

The North Stars came back with Jackson Webster finishing a nice feed from Steven Portelli at 11:57, but another goal from Ryan Lanchbury had this game knotted at five.
