Peter Laviolette’s Mighty Morphing New York Rangers

The Philadelphia Flyers were looking to get themselves back in the win column after losing against the New York Islanders on Wednesday night. On the other hand, the New York Rangers are steamrolling through the NHL. They won 11 out of their last 13 games. THe Flyers are catching the National Hockey League by storm with this win over the Flyers. They are 2 points behind the Boston Bruins.

They will face Saturday at 1 pm for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers would face a beloved figure in this town—former Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette. Laviolette is now the head coach of the New York Rangers. In this game, you saw how Lavi had the Rangers clicking on all cylinders. All four lines are playing extremely well.

A Monster Between The Pipes

Igor Shesterkin was one tough customer between the pipes. The Flyers threw everything but the kitchen sink at him. Igor Shesterkin stopped 36 out of 37 shots on goal. It didn’t matter if the Flyers had traffic in front of him or not; Igor Shesterkin was laser-focused on the task at hand. He found himself scrapping with Flyers right winger Garnet Hathway. The Flyers had six power-play opportunities and couldn’t get one power-play goal to hit the back of the net.

Mika Zibanejad The New Nemis to the Flyers.

Mika Zibanejad has become the newest problem child. Sidney Crosby has been the one to give the Flyers the fits for the past decade. Now it seems like Mika Zibanejad has found himself knowing how to pick this Flyers defense apart. Mika Zibanejad has 18 goals against the Flyers.

He had a pair of goals against the Flyers in today’s game. Blake Wheeler and Mika Zibanejad beat the odd-man rush. Blake Wheeler makes a pass to Mika Zibanejad, which would make an admirable goal. Mika Zibanejad would get his second goal from Blake Wheeler, finding him wide-open in front of the net all alone. He makes the goal on Carter Hart.
