Phillies Roll Rockies Take 3 of 4 at CBP

Game 1

The Phillies finally come home after a seven-game Road Trip only to have their bats still on the road. The Rockies start the scoring in the first inning. CJ Chrome homers to deep left, scoring Jackson Profar and the Rockies take a 2-0 lead. As we moved to the top of the Third, Elias Diaz’s single knocks in Ryan McMahon and the Rockies extender led to 3-0. The top of the six, Allen Trujillo draws a bases load of walks. This gives the Rockies a 4-to-nothing lead. In the top of the ninth, Mike Moustakas doubles to right Jonathan Daza’s scores to make it a 5-0 game. This was not the best start to a Phillies vs Rockies series.

The Phillies bats would stay asleep as the Rockies win game one of this four-game set 5 to nothing. Wasted in this game was a strong pitching performance by Matt Straham, who pitched 5 and a third innings giving up 3 earned runs and 2 walks with 11 Ks.

GAME 2

It starts with two really good pictures Noah Davis for the Rockies and Aaron Nola for the Phillies. Davis Wood pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up 6 hits, and 1 earned run with 5Ks. Aaron Nola would pitch 7 innings giving up 4 hits, 3 earned runs, and 3Ks. The Rockies wouldn’t take long to start the scoring as Ryan McMahon crushed an Aaron Nola pitch to center field to give the Rockies a 3 -0 lead in the top of the 1st.

The Phillies will load the bases in the bottom of the fourth inning. Then Nick Castellanos would cause Rockies pitcher Noah Davis to balk. Castellanos scores. Jake Cave would follow up with a single and score. Brandon Marsh and the Phillies cut the Rockies’ lead to 3-2. Bottom of the 7th, Kyle Schwarber hits a bomb to right field to tie the game at 3.

Bottom of the 8th at Edmundo Sosa singles in JT Realmuto with the go-ahead run as the Phillies take the lead 4 to 3. Jose Alvarado closes the 9th to give the Phillies the win 4-3 Aaron Nola went seven innings.

GAME 3

Saturday’s pitching match-up was Kyle Freeland versus Christopher Sanchez. Philly’s got on the board first with a Nick Castellanos home run to put the Phillies up 1-0 in the bottom of the 1st. Top 3rd Jorickson Profar grounds out and knocks in Allen Trujillo to tie the score at 1. Bottom 3rd, Cristian Pache homers to dead center field….Phillies up3-1.

Top 4th Johann Gaza doubles to deep Center Ryan McMahon scores to cut the Phillies lead to 3-2. Top 5th, Mike Moustakas hits a sacrifice fly Charlie Blackmon scores to tie the game at 3. Bottom 6th, Nick Castellanos homers to deep left-center field for a second home run of the game. Phil’s take a 4-3 lead. The Phillies bullpen would handle the Rockies the rest of the game. They record three straight shutout Innings, with Craig Kimbrel getting the save. Connor Brogdon gets the win. Kyle Freeland gets the loss Craig Kimbrel gets the save.

GAME 4

The pitching matchup was between Jose Urena versus Zack Wheeler. Trey Turner gets the scoring started in the bottom of the first with a homer to deep left Center. Giving the Phillies a 1-0 lead’. BOTTOM 3RD Cody Clemens homers to deep right field to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead. Johann Gaza was hit by a pitch. Jurickson Profar would score Harold Castro with his sacrifice fly. Ryan McMahon would score, tying the game at 2. Ezequiel Tovar, who then singled to right, scoring CJ Cron, gave the Rockies a 3-2 lead. Bottom 4th JT Realmuto hits into a field of choice scoring Kyle Schwarber and tying the game at 3.

Alec Bohm would ground out, scoring Nick Castellanos giving the Phillies a 4-3 lead bottom 7th Alec Bohm doubled it deep Right Center scoring JT Realmuto giving the Phillies a 5-3 lead then it would be filed up by Bryson Scott, hitting a two-run home run to deep right field Phillies within lead 7 to 3. Bottom 8th, Brandy Marsh connects on a home run to deep Right Center Fields scoring him, and Christian Pache Phillies lead 9 to 3. The Rockies go down, and they’re half of the 9th Inning final score Phillies 9 Rockies 3 final. Strong game by Zack Wheeler, who pitches six Innings and gives up three hits and three earned runs with 11 strikeouts.
