Phillies Score Early, Hold on for Win

Phillies score early, hold on for a 4-3 win. Vince Velasquez went 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 earned run while walking two, and punching out 6. Vinny V also had the game-winning RBI with a ground out that scored Roman Quinn who plated Odubel Herrera with a triple.

Lorenzo Cain returned after missing time due to injury and promptly crushed a 446-foot bomb in the first inning. JT Realmuto countered with a two-run blast that scored Brad Miller to give the Phils a 2-1 edge.

Milwaukee had a chance to knot it up in the 8th when Kolten Wong and Cain walked followed by a single from Christian Yelich that loaded the bases. Travis Shaw hit a sac fly and Cain crossed the plate on a fielder’s choice. That was a far as the rally would go.
