The Boys are Back At it …a less than stellar week with Kevin, Gary and Ross each going 3-3 with Shawn and Mike posting a 2-4 week.
That being written, Ross still has a commanding 41-18 lead.
Shawn
trails with a 35-24.mark followed by Gary and Kevin at 33-26. Muffler Mike is battling back with his 28-31 mark.
We move on with our leader, the all over tanned…well, his wife told me, clearly I am taking her word and our leader, the lovely and talented, (he paid twenty bucks to write that), Ross, The Boss, McLouglin..
Rochester vs Georgia
Winner Rochester
Rochester Can’t lose all their games, Right? Maybe I am not giving them the credit they deserve but I think they win this game.
Calgary vs. San Diego
Winner San Diego
After the close loss last week a glarong chink in the armor of the Seals was revealed, they cant win faceoffs vs a good Faceoff guy.
Good thing for the Seals, Calgary has about as many Questions at faceoff and the Seals do.
It might be time for the Seals to make a change and bring in Alex Woodall for the playoff run.
Dobbie has had a few less than stellar games in a row. What better time to break that than against his former team?
Vancouver vs. Halifax
Winner Halifax
Vancouver is missing Mitch Jones, although he might be back this week?
I think he will be the deciding factor if Jones plays Vancouver wins. But I don’t think he will be back this week.
And Halifax is a good team that is going to be coming in hot ready for this game in front of home town fans.
New York vs. Toronto
Winner Toronto
I don’t think New York has the juice to surprise the Rock again this week. Toronto is going to play hard, I think this game is going to be more of a WAR.
Could get very exciting as the Riptide are trying to prove to the league that they are at least spoilers if not contenders.
Buffalo vs. Albany
Winner Buffalo
Albany got lucky last week, It’s not going to happen twice.
Saskatchewan vs. Panther City
Winner Saskatchewan
Rush have been recharged with the addition of Eric Penney in net. Lets see if they rub him the right way again and get the win.
Panther City lets in too many goals to win this game.
So, we move forward to the Canadian guru, Gary ‘ The Mystic” Groob.
Rochester vs Georgia
Georgia wins
Both talented teams, both very inconsistent. The edge goes to the goaltending, and while I really like Rylan Hartley for Rochester, the tip of the scales goes to the experience of Mike Poulin in the Swarm net.
Calgary vs. San Diego
San Diego wins.
I don’t think San Diego puts up two bad games in a row. Dane Dobbie will take it upon himself t make another statement against his former team.
Vancouver vs. Halifax
Halifax wins
I think the Thunderbirds are just too strong for the back end of Vancouver. This will be a slugfest though. In my opinion, probably this will be the most entertaining game of the weekend.
New York vs. Toronto
Toronto wins
Toronto played a very mediocre game last week, while New York executed their game plan to the letter.
The Rock almost came away with the W. Back at home in front of their fans, the Rock play with exuberance.
Buffalo vs. Albany
Buffalo wins
The Bandits are too deep of a team. Albany has shown signs of brilliance, but also signs of inconsistencies. Buffalo is a patient team, and will capitalize on the FireWolves mistakes.
Saskatchewan vs. Panther City
Saskatchewan wins.
We finally saw the real Rush team last week. Solid goaltending allowed the team to relax and play Rush style ball. Look for more of the same this week.
On to the Moose Jaw…whatever that is, Mystic and Shawn Slaght.
Rochester vs Georgia
Pick – Georgia
Georgia is sneaking into must-win territory. While the Swarm have lacked consistency, Rochester just can’t string any time momentum together.
on to Philly and Mr.Incoherent, Kevin Neibauer.
Rochester-Georgia..
Georgia
Desperation time in the South.
Georgia is or should be, in a Must Win now mode…
Another loss should all but end their season.
Calgary- San Diego
Calgary
My head says San Diego but, my gut says Calgary…another team who cannot afford any more losses. This could be the game of the week.
Vancouver- Halifax
Halifax
Actually, this could be the game of the week.
The East continues to show how superior it is…A four goal Halifax win.
New York-Toronto
Toronto
The Riptide have grown leaps and bounds with taking Buffalo to overtime and getting the best of Toronto.
The Rock need this one more and get back on track with a 12-7 win.
Buffalo-Albany
Buffalo
While the Albany defense can stifle most teams, Buffalo is not most teams… Dhane Smith and Chris Cloutier (pardon my bias with Clots) have huge games…Albany will stay in the four slot.
Saakatchewan-PCLC
The Rush
Another “win now”team, the Rush dug themselves a hole..
They simply cannot afford another defeat.
Calgary vs San Diego
Pick – San Diego
I can’t imagine the loss last week isn’t sitting well with the Seals.
Vancouver vs Halifax
Pick – Halifax
I honestly think Vancouver can give Halifax a run for their money. Will it be enough?
I
New York vs Toronto
Pick – Toronto
New York is improving, but they aren’t in the upper echelon of teams yet.
Buffalo vs Albany
Pick – Buffalo
Can anyone stop this juggernaut that is the Buffalo Bandits?
They are the best team in the league and I have no reason to believe Albany can beat them at this point.
Saskatchewan vs Panther City
Pick – Saskatchewan
Well, I picked against my hometown team last week and they showed up against the Mammoth
On to New England and the man they call Muffler…damned if I know why…but we go with it and Mike Kostiuk.
ROC @ GA
Georgia. Honestly, I’m picking the Swarm solely because the game is at The Hive. I can’t make heads or tails of either team anymore.
CGY @ SD
San Diego. I can’t imagine the Seals dropping back-to-back home games, even with Calgary starting their usual late-season playoff push.
VAN @ HFX
Halifax. The Thunderbirds are absolutely not what the Warriors needed to shake off last week’s surprising loss.
NY @ TOR
New York. The impact of the return of Dan Lomas to this Riptide squad cannot be overstated, regardless of Crawford and Teat, regardless of the road game, and regardless of the opponent looking for revenge.
BUF @ ALB
Albany. Game 4 of that brutal 5-game stretch, and they’re only 1-2 so far. Plus, Philly/Georgia/Rochester staring down that secure 4th place spot in the East. The FireWolves have no choice but to play their best game of the year and come out with a win.
SASK @ PCLC
PCLC. They may both have won last week, but the Rush appear tentative, as if they know the swagger of their dynasty years just isn’t there. A wild crowd in Fort Worth looking for another taste of victory helps propel PCLC to a victory.
Rochester-Georgia..
Georgia
