Pick Ems

We go to our final week.
Gary, Shawn and Ross each were 2-2 with Kevin 1-3 and Muffler Mike an 0 for 4.

A dogfight to the finish with Ross at 72-47.

Gary and Shawn a game behind at 71-48, the Philly Legend? Kevin posting a 70-49 and Muffler Mike looking at a 55-64 mark.

Ross Starts Off

Ross was last seen in Wal Mart trying to get a refund on a “defective 8 Ball”,not sure what went down after security was called…Bystanders claim the 8 Ball tipped him off.

Philadelphia vs Georgia
Winner – Wings.

Philadelphia has just looked plain flat as of late. Wings are playing for a playoff spot, Swarm are in already.

Halifax vs Rochester
Winner – Halifax

Rochester has no dog in this fight, its a throw away game that they will fight tooth and nail, sometimes with nails to win. Halifax will be playing lacrosse, look for Rochester to spend more time in the penalty box than playing.

New York vs Albany
Winner- New York

New York Nothing to play for but the chance to spoil Albany, Connor Kearnan and Jeff Teat will do something more Magical than the Hidden ball trick..

Toronto vs Buffalo
Winner- Buffalo

Buffalo has shown Chinks in the Armor, look for them to be out playing and having fun, the Rock will be playing to stay healthy,

Saskatchewan vs PCLC
Winner – PCLC

Panther City, will be deflated after getting the boot from the playoffs. This game could be that game for NOT LAST place.

Colorado vs Calgary
Winner – Calgary

Calgary has been on a roll lately, Colorado is the team to roll over.

San Diego vs Vancouver
Winner – San Diego

6 weeks ago, Seals looked like “THE TEAM” this week they either sink or swim. If Faceoffs work for the Seals they have a chance. They need to score 20 and stop the Warriors from putting up points if they want to have any luck, as we have seen the Seals Keeper can’t keep it in hand.

To the Pride of the Prairies

We move to Western Canada…not that we can… the Omnipotent, Shawn Slaght.

Philadelphia vs Georgia
Pick – Georgia

Philadelphia has just looked plain flat as of late. I’m not picking Georgia to win as much as I don’t see how the Wings will pull off the victory.

Halifax vs Rochester
Pick – Halifax

Rochester pulled off a stunner last week, but don’t expect a repeat. Halifax wants to get off on the right foot heading into the playoffs.

New York vs Albany
Pick – Albany

Albany can’t lay back in this game, while New York is playing for pride. I wouldn’t be surprised is New York experiments with its roster and players, yet Albany has to play first-stringers.

Toronto vs Buffalo
Pick – Toronto

Buffalo is going to play conservative. They’ve got first place in the bag, it’ll be a win for them to just get out of this one without injuries. Meanwhile, the Rock will want to make a statement.

Saskatchewan vs PCLC
Pick – PCLC

This is going to be a lot closer than many think. PCLC is still growing and are still learning what they’ve got. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rush treat this like a preseason game and give the young guys more floor time.

Colorado vs Calgary
Pick – Colorado

Possible West final preview? Calgary is still living the curse of the Mammoth. Calgary took a demoralizing defeat last week that’ll be tough to rebound from.

San Diego vs Vancouver
Pick – San Diego

Losing six in a row can’t be sitting well with the Seals and they need to be better heading into the playoffs. Unfortunately for Vancouver, they’ll be the punching bags.

Mr. Everywhere, Gary Groob

Gary is fresh off a Lacrosse World tour that found him thru Toronto and Hamilton…well, it’s his world.

Philadelphia vs. Georgia
Georgia wins.

The Swarm offense when healthy, is comparable to any in the league. Solid goaltending from Mike Poulin and I think the Wings have a long night…again.

Halifax vs. Rochester
Halifax wins

Halifax is getting ready for the playoffs, and with a loss could still finish 4th and play Buffalo in the first round. They will do anything to avoid that fate.

NY vs. Albany
Albany wins

Albany is still fighting for a playoff spot, and really need this win. A desperate team is a dangerous team.

Toronto vs. Buffalo
Toronto wins.

This game means nothing to either team, and the biggest concern is staying healthy for the playoffs the next week. There has to be a winner, so I’m going with the Rock.

Saskatchewan vs. Panther City

Panther City wins.

Panther City is just so explosive! They can be down, and two minutes later be up by three! There is so much younger talent, that want to send a message for next year.

Colorado vs. Calgary
Calgary wins.

This is another game that doesn’t mean anything. I think that the Roughnecks are getting themselves primed for the playoffs.

SD vs. Vancouver
San Diego wins

San Diego wants to go onto the playoffs on a high note. Look for the offense to go full throttle.

Muffler Time…

Back in the States….I know… why?

Muffler Mike spent a few confused hours wondering why his spud wrench wouldn’t loosen lug nuts.

PHI @ GA
Georgia. It’s a shame one of these teams has to miss the playoffs, as both have admirably overcome midseason slumps. The return of Miles Thompson and a raucous crowd at the Hive make just enough difference for the Swarm, who also avoid Buffalo in the first round…

HFX @ ROC
Rochester. The only intrigue here is whether Tyler Biles (61) breaks Bill O’Brien’s rookie record (68) for penalty minutes. Halifax improbably falls to 4th place and the dreaded first-round playoff in Banditland.

NY @ ALB
Albany. Revenge game for the FireWolves, who prevent a playoff spoiler attempt and get the Wild Card, which somehow became the best playoff position to have after the #1 overall seed…huh?!?

TOR @ BUF
Buffalo. The Rock look as much title contenders as Buffalo, but I’ve been burned enough already this season picking against the Bandits at home.

SASK @ PCLC
Panther City. The Rush are on a roll (albeit too late), but I Panther City ends the season on a high note, which helps generate more interest and attendance for 2023, when Randy Staats and Jonathan Donville arrive.

COL @ CGY
Calgary. Both teams are getting hot at the right time. Roughnecks flip the bird to everyone who wrote them off at 3-6 by winning the West Division.

SD @ VAN
Vancouver. The Warriors, having gone 1-7 in the second half of the season, are looking to right their ship just as much as the Seals.

Last But Certainly Least

The Mystic from between the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers…are you sitting and taking notes? (I wouldn’t).

The Not so Lovely and not so Talented Kevin Neibauer

Annnd here we go…

Philadelphia-Georgia.

Gotta go Swarm.

Philadelphia offense has become offensive.

The inevitable will come to fruition and the Wings will be eliminated.

Halifax- Rochester

Halifax

A playoff tune up for The T’Birds…they will do just enough to grab a two goal win.

New York-Albany

Going New York.

Albany loses and causes Joe Resetarits any shot at MVP.

Toronto-Buffalo

Buffalo

Far and away, the game of the week.

This will be a physical defensive battle with Dhane Smith locking down MVP with a six point night.

Saskatrchewan-PCLC

PCLC

A game for pride.

The Rush have been rolling but, PC puts the brakes on the run.

Colorado-Calgary

Colorado

This will rival Buffalo-Toronto
A possible precursor to a playoff match up.

Ryan Lee makes a statement for MVP with a six point night

The Curtis Dickson-Jesse King tandem will keep it close. Look for Overtime with this one.

Finally, San Diego-Vancouver

San Diego

The Seals look to build momentum heading to what they hope to be a fruitful playoff push and rejuvenate what started as a stellar season.

A win in this wipes away the bad taste of the long losing string

There you have it…Each time we have been right, we have not been wrong.
