We’re back! After a short week of just three games…not much change in our leader board.
Kevin led the pack with 3-0, Ross, Shawn and Gary posted 2-1 records with Muffler Mike dropping 2 of 3.
Ross and his 8 Ball.continue to set the standard with a 24-8 record.
Shawn remains 3 games behind at 21-11.
Kevin (that’s his name this week) stays in the middle of the pack at 17-15 followed by Gary at 15-17 and Muffler Mike with his 14-18.
A full slate of games on tap this weekend with every game on Saturday.
We Start in the Usually Great White North
Gary Groob, fresh from a week of shoveling snow, is now shoveling his picks.
Georgia vs. Philadelphia
Georgia wins
The Swarm have finally found their identity, and with a solid game from Lyle will get it done in this one.
Rochester vs. Toronto
Toronto wins
Look for a healthy Toronto lineup to make a statement in this game.
Buffalo vs. New York
Buffalo wins
The Bandits are such a deep team, with high powered scoring. Although the Riptide are in the right direction, they aren’t a match for this team yet.
Halifax vs. Albany
Halifax wins
Another very strong team, the only thing that will slow down the Thunderbirds is that they haven’t played much. That being said, after a month layoff, they were still able to hold off a strong Toronto team. Halifax will be just fine in this one.
PCLC vs. Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan wins
The Rush have been very inconsistent this year, but the talent is there. Look for breakout games from Mark Matthews, and Robert Church in this one.
Vancouver vs. Colorado
Vancouver wins
Vancouver has shown the resilience so far this year. Colorado has been another inconsistent team, but I give a slight edge to the Warriors.
Calgary vs. San Diego
San Diego wins
San Diego is just too strong in all aspects of the game, and will give the Roughnecks fits all night.
Crossing the Border
Our leader, Ross McLoughlin, employed not just his Magic 8 Ball, but, since there are so many games, he brought out his pet rock and a mood ring.
Rochester VS Toronto
Toronto
Look at Dan Dawson and Company to finish the Month Strong. Rochester is going to extend that losing streak. When the Captain of Rochester is more interested in fighting than playing every week… You are not going to win many games. This is the Dawson Bowl, Time for the older brother to show the younger who is better.
Philly VS Georgia
Philly
I had to shake the Magic 8 ball really hard to get this game to come up Philly is going into this game with the feeling that they should of won 2 games last week.
Buffalo VS New York
Buffalo
Buffalo is so deep, Even without Kyle Buchanan (out on covid) were looking at a Buffalo team that has most of the pieces. And lets face it, Riptide have won 2 games EVER…. One of them last week to a very tired Wings team.
Halifax VS Albany
Halifax
Look Albany is good but not great, and Halifax is going to be RUSTY they have only played 3 games in 9 weeks hard to get into a rhythm that way. I think its a close physical game and Halifax has the better Faceoff and defense.
PCLC VS Saskatchewan
Panther City
The West is full of teams that can’t win at home, I think the Rush are a shell of the dominating team they have been for the past few years. To many rookies and not enough vets. Panther City is HUNGRY and going to get their 2nd win in a row.
Vancouver VS Colorado
Colorado
This is an EVEN matchup, neither team has the clear advantage. Magic 8 ball Says Colorado
Calgary VS San Diego
San Diego
San Diego is near full strength. It does not bode well for Calgary, the Roughnecks are going to face a Seals team that even with 9 players down couldn’t lose.
Staying West But Crossing the Border
We move to Mr. Damn It’s Cold, Shawn ” Setting Ross Up for my Big Comeback” Slaght
Rochester vs Toronto
Pick – Toronto
This is one of a few close games this week. Rochester has shown they are no slouch. That being said, I think the talent the Rock have is just a hair better.
Philadelphia vs Georgia
Pick – Philadelphia
I’m still not sure what to make of this Georgia team. One minute they look like world-beaters, next minute they are crapping the bed. I have to go with the Wings because they are showing a bit more consistency.
Buffalo vs New York
Pick – Buffalo
So New York picked up a one-goal win over a tired Philly team last week. I don’t think that proves too much. This is a well rested juggernaut Buffalo team. I don’t see this one being close.
Halifax vs Albany
Pick – Halifax
What a fantastic matchup. Both teams are playing their best lacrosse. I just feel Halifax is the better we’ll-rounded team.
Panther City vs Saskatchewan
Pick – Saskatchewan
The Rush have had their struggles no doubt and maybe this game is what the doctor ordered to get their confidence back. They still have enough veteran presence to get by, while Panther City is still trying to gel. The Rush will take this by two or three goals.
Vancouver vs Colorado
Pick – Vancouver
The Warriors are on the cusp of putting something great together. They just can’t seem to put it all together night in and night out. Colorado is struggling and I don’t see that ending any time soon.
Calgary vs San Diego
Pick – San Diego
I’m saying it right now. Dane Dobbie is going to go off on his old team. He’ll make them regret not signing him. It’ll be a long night for CDB.
Back in the States
Due to business and personal.commitments, Muffler Mike “Busy as a One Armed Paper Hanger with Hemmorhoids” Kostiuk was only able to supply his winners…err….mostly losers.
Sorry all – I’m swamped tonight and tomorrow, so no explanations, just my picks:
Rochester
Georgia
Buffalo
Albany
Saskatchewan
Vancouver (note to Ross: pick Colorado! 😂)
San Diego
Great slate of games this weekend!
The Moment You Have All Been Waiting For….Haven’t You?
Philly’s Phinest.. because he is the only one from Philly
The Man.. The Myth ..The Legend….at least in his mind.
Kevin “Don’t Call Me Shirley” Neibauer
Rochester@Toronto
Toronto
Rochester simply does not have the horses to compete in this one.
Toronto looks to tighten the Division even more than it is.
Philly@Georgia
Philly
This one is a coin flip. Georgia is a different team and Philadelphia has lost two of three.
Another division match up that will come down to the wire.
Buffalo@New York
Buffalo
The Riptide seem to be putting it together but, Buffalo is in a whole other class. This should be over at half time.
Halifax@Albany
Halifax
Albany is another team getting untracked.
Unfortunately Halifax will be on the track and stop the win streak.
PCLC@Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan
The Rush have been surprising everyone, not in a good way.
They right their ship for a confidence boosting home victory.
Vancouver@Colorado
Colorado
My instinct was to wait and and see who Ross picked.
As good as his predictions have been, Vancouver has him figured out.
Two question mark teams. World Beaters one week, can’t throw a ball in the ocean from the beach the next.
Colorado rides the home crowd to a three goal win.
Calgary@San Diego
San Diego
Calgary has had a steep quick drop and San Diego is a top echelon team.
Mac O’Keefe gets three and Dane Dobbie…look for a sock trick.
