Playoff Push for Fantasy Owners

As we enter week 12, it’s the playoff push for fantasy football owners. Most of the talent is already on rosters, but this is the time of the year when smart owners add pickups who can ultimately put you over the top. Here are my week 12 sleepers. If, by chance, any of these guys are available, consider adding them.

Playoff Push Players

No 1 Is Cam Akers of the Rams. With the release of Henderson Akers is clearly the number-one choice in LA. The Rams have some good matchups coming up vs. KC, Seattle, Raiders, Green Bay, Denver, and the Chargers. All of those teams are at the bottom of fantasy running back points against except Denver at no 9.

No 2 is RB James Cook of the Bills.  We are entering the time of the year when Buffalo will use the running game much more, and with the amount of points the Bills score, Cook is always a threat to score a TD. Cook had 11 carries last week and goes against a Detroit team that can give up rushing yards by the bunches.

No 3 is RB Samaje Perine of the Bengals.  Now I find it hard to believe that owners who had Joe Mixon wouldn’t have had Perine as his handcuff, but if you are lucky enough to see him available, grab him immediately. With the status of Mixon in question this week, Perine has a chance to be the guy and put up some serious numbers. He may not be a long-term solution, but if you are desperate for a win, grab him and get the W this week. Perine is a serious threat in the passing game, as he scored 3 TDs vs. the Steelers.

No 4 is WR Darius Slayton of the Giants.  With Wan’dale Robinson going down, Slayton has a chance to be Daniel Jones’s number-one target. If available, pick him up and start him.

No 4 is rookie WR Jameson Williams of the Lions. Williams has missed the whole season so far, but he is a dynamic playmaker. I’d grab him now before anyone sees what he is capable of. Williams, on the opposite side of St. Brown, could put up some good numbers in a few weeks. This would be just in time for the fantasy playoffs. The Lions are a team on the rise, and this young man can be an impact player.

No 5 is WR Demarcus Robinson of the Baltimore Ravens. With the injury to Rashod Bateman and the trade of Hollywood Brown, the Ravens are seriously lacking in the WR department. Robinson filled that void last week with 9 catches for 128 yards vs. the Panthers in week 11. Going forward, he has a chance to be Lamar Jackson’s number-one outside target. Robinson is definitely worthy of taking a flier on if available.

Honorable Mention

Honorable mention would include TE Austin Hooper, WR Tutu Atwell of the Rams, and WR Julio Jones.

Admittingly the pickings are slim in deep leagues. Many of these guys may not be available. If they are and you need some help, take a shot and add one or two of these players. An add of Demarcus Robinson could be the difference between getting paid and coming up empty. Good luck to all fantasy owners during their playoff push.
