Premier Series Lacrosse: Future Stars Playoff Round 1

The 5th/6th grade division kicked off the first round of the playoffs, Sunday, the 5th.  Crabs LC 5th/6th team took on the Gators LC for game 1.  The Crabs took control of the game in the first quarter and never stepped off the gas. The Crabs downed the Gators 17-1, the game MVP for the Crabs was #63 Colton Wagner.

Game 2 of the 5th/6th grade division saw the Retrievers LC take on Sidewinders LC. The Sidewinders came out strong early in the 1st quarter, however, the Retrievers were able to rally back and take down the Sidewinders 16-2. The game MVP for the Retrievers was #2 Luke Doyle.

The first round of High School divisional games took place, Wednesday, January 8th, 2020.  The NC Knights took on Team Ho-Co.  The Knights have been constantly improving all year and we’re giving Ho-Co a run for their money through the first half. However coming into the 3rd, Ho-Co turned on the gas and stayed in the driver’s set until the final whistle. The game MVP for Ho-Co was #33, Tyler Hopkins.

Friday the 10th saw action from the Middle School division with the Bombers taking on the API Diamondbacks, and the Sidewinders taking on the Crease LC. Thursday’s games were filled with excitement as each team was battling each other from start to finish. The Bombers and Diamondbacks were neck and neck from the first whistle to the last. When the dust settled, the Diamondbacks came away with the win 12-10. The Game MVP was #1, Matthew Mitcheltree, with 3 goals.

The second game of the evening saw the Sidewinders take on The Crease LC. If game 1 was any indication of the air of the evening, then game 2 would certainly not disappoint. While the Crease dominated the scoreboard, each team was truly trying to leave the other with a lasting impression. The game MVP for the Crease LC was number 92 with a game-high 4 goals!

There’s the rundown from the first round of the Playoffs. Thank you again or reading. Stay tuned each week for a recap of the week’s events, scores, and MVP’s!
