Rube’s Phillies Booth Debut

Ruben Amaro Jr Joins the Phillies Broadcast Booth

Last Night, Phillies fans got our first glimpse at Ruben Amaro Jr in the booth with Tom McCarthy.

In what I, personally, thought was gonna be a bland monotone dialogue with McCarthy overall in what was the last of 3 exhibition games. Actually, won me over by night’s end.

RAJ, having worn so many different hats in his unique career had many interesting perspectives on each topic throughout the entire game. In a strange way, leaving me wanting more.

However, this is just one man’s opinion.

I’m curious to see how others felt about the debut of the once Phillies GM now doing in-game color commentary.

With Tom McCarthy the only full-time staple in the Phillies Booth. They have a long list of rotating co-commentators. Ruben has proved to be a welcomed new edition. We don’t know how often he will be on air but we now know on that day we will have learned just a little bit more about our Phillies and the game we love.
