Seven Round Eagles Mock Draft 1.0

EAGLES MOCK DRAFT 1.0

The Eagles season is officially over. Now we set our sights towards the 2021 NFL Draft. Here is our first Seven Round Eagles Mock.

WR Ja’Marr Chase WR (6’0″ 207lb) – I’ve been beating the drum for DeVonta Smith but would be 100% on board for LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase. Chase chose to opt-out of the 2020 season and declare early for the 2021 NFL Draft. With numbers like his, it’s hard to imagine that he is not on the Eagles radar (2019: 1,780 Yards / 20 TDs). Plus, can you imagine if they pass on another LSU top wide receiver.

CB Tyson Campbell (6’2″ 185lb) – Georgia’s Tyson Campbell has a monster size and is extremely athletic. The Eagles need to draft for their secondary early and probably multiple times. Campbell has first-round talent so if he does slip to the second-round this pick is a no brainer for the Birds

G Deonte Brown (6’4″ 338lb) – It’s no secret the Eagles desperately need to strengthen their Offensive Line. However, with Brandon Brooks and Lane Johnson returning it is more likely that depth is what is added. With Jack Driscoll the heir apparent to Lane, Alabama’s Deonte Brown is exactly what this team needs as a Brandon Brooks insurance policy. Matt Pryor stinks and Prince Tega who the Eagles drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft is still raw and considered a project. Brown has the talent to make a quick transition to the NFL.

MLB Damone Clark (6’3″ 245lb) – Unless Howie or whoever is in charge of the upcoming draft shocks everyone and selects Penn State’s, Micah Parsons. They will need to address the Linebacker position once again in the mid-to-late rounds. With TJ Edwards and Alex Singleton pretty much a lock at their position the Eagles still need help. Nate Gerry is a FA (Thank the Lord),  Davion Taylor looks more like a special teamer despite his 3rd round price tag last draft, and Shaun Bradley trying to stay healthy enough to get on the field. LSU’s Damone Clark looks like a very intriguing option. Stepping in place of Patrick Queen, Clark didn’t miss a beat. Ending the shortened 2020 season with 63 total tackles in 9 games. This man looks to have more than enough talent to battle it out for a roster spot.

DE/DT Malik Herring (6’5″ 245lb) – The Eagles love versatile players. A player like Georgia’s Malik Herring falling to you in the later rounds is enough to make you gitty. An edge rusher with the ability to slide inside at times is something our front office salivates over. With so many questions surrounding who will actually be returning on the Defensive Line next season. Herring would be a steal and a very welcomed addition.

SS Divine Deablo (6’3″ 227lb) – Again, another position with many question marks. Jalen Mills is a FA. Will Parks was released midseason. Rodney McLeod ended the season on the IR. Virginia Tech’s Divine Deablo would be an instant contributor and upgrade to the position. The once Wide Receiver turned Safety ended the 9-game 2020 season with 55 tackles and a total of 206 tackles in his whole collegiate time as a Hokie.

OT Ben Petrula (6’5″ 315lb) – This one is really easy. The 7th-round is always a gamble. Howie has hit once before taking Jordan Mailata who now looks to be the Eagles starting Left Tackle next season. Boston College has a history of producing serviceable offensive lineman. This case is no different. Petrula also has the know-how to slide inside at Guard or Center. Right up the Eagles alley, right?

Well, there you have it. Our Mock Draft 1.0. Be on the lookout for upcoming player profiles as we countdown the days till April 29, 2021.
