Sixers Facing An Uphill Battle

The Philadelphia 76ers would come into Minnesota to face the Timberwolves after a tough loss against the Cleveland Cavilers. Meanwhile, The Timberwolves had won 9 out of their last ten games. They would take full advantage of the 76ers, knowing there was no Joel Embiid in the lineup. The Timberwolves would have their double big men set in the starting lineup with Rudy Gobert and Karl Anthony Towns. Just being a complete mismatch in the paint. Karl Anthony Towns would drop 23 points. Both big men would have a combination of 22 rebounds. They were making it a long day at the office for the 76ers. The Sixers were facing an uphill battle.

Anthony Edwards Having a Field Day

With the havoc that Rudy Gobert and Karl Anthony Towns were causing in the paint. Suppose that wasn’t enough on the 76er’s plate to deal with. The last thing they didn’t need was someone from the Timberwolves shooting well from the perimeter and great with mid-range games. Anthony Edwards provided all of that for the Timberwolves. Edwards scored 31 points, shooting 5-9 from 3-point land. Anthony Edwards was all over the floor. He was giving the 76ers the fits. Edwards was terrific in the pass-and-shoot situations.

Tobias Harris Filling The Gap

Even though there was no Joel Embiid in this game, Tobias Harris stepped up big-time. He was aggressive in the paint, both defensively and offensively. Harris was filling the gap for Joel Embiid regarding style of play. He was not intimidated by the Timberwolf’s double set of big men. Tobie drove the ball right to the rim with no problem.

Tobias Harris had 15 points and 5 defensive rebounds. Another spark that the 76ers had going for them was Marcius Morris shooting 3-5 from beyond the arch. The 76ers gave the Timberwolves the best punch they could without the reigning MVP, Joel Embiid. He was playing with fatigue and going against the Timberwolves, who have one of the best home records in the NBA.
