St.Joseph’s dominated in Pittsburgh. The St.Joseph’s Hawks (1-14) went into the Kerr Fitness Center to attempt to end their losing skein. The Duquesne Dukes (6-6) would have none of that and secured a 17 point victory, 67-50 on Saturday evening.
Marcus Weathers led all players with a 24 point 12 rebound affair. Michael Hughes chipped in with a dozen points in the cause for the Dukes. The Hawks would not go quietly in the night. Despite trailing 40-17, St. Joe’s had no quit.
Taylor Funk just missed a double-double when he secured 9 boards and posted 15 points. Youngster Jadrian Tracey also barely missed his own double-double with 11 rebounds and 9 points. Interestingly enough, Funk picked up 13 off his points in the second half.
