The Philadelphia Eagles have shown us they don’t really value the linebacker position enough to draft one in the 1st round of the NFL Draft. Could they take one in the later rounds by converting a Safety into Linebacker just like Nate Gerry? Absolutely!
Tanner Muse, a 3-year starter at Clemson University, would be the perfect late-round guy to fit that bill. He already has the height of a linebacker but could add on a few more pounds. I like his speed to be able to cover the tight end or running backs in the flat. Muse finished the 2019 season with 54 total tackles and a team-high four interceptions with third-team Associated Press All-American and first-team all-conference honors. Being able to play special teams will likely be the key to making any roster and as a freshman, Tanner received the team’s Co-Special Teams Player of the Year award, after posting 10 coverage tackles in 15 games.

Projected Pick: 6 Round – UFA

A faster Nate Gerry sounds interesting, right?
