The Bearcats roared back with a Napoletano marker that was quickly answered by Meghan Hoffman to keep the tie game in place at 9-9. Taylor Gysin (2g) picked up a short-handed tally to boost Cindy back in front but it took only two and a half minutes for Whitaker to feed her favorite target, Hoffman, and, once again, game knotted.
Borzillo hit net on the advantage before… wait for it…Whitaker matched. Whitaker hit another goal and at 14:12 Temple seized the lead. Adams picked up her 31st and it took MacKenzie Roth (2g) just :35 to counter. Ryan and Adams exchanged goals to get it to 14-13 with 5:31 to play. “I expected today we would have to learn a lot through the game, and that’s probably what I’m most proud of for our team. We got down a bunch of goals and we had to figure out how to stay mentally tough and start to dig our way into all the little possessions.”–Temple head coach Bonnie Rosen
