The 2021 IBLA season kicked off with the Maryland branch on the center stage on Friday evening. Two iconic box lacrosse monikers were on display. The Maryland Arrows (0-1) played hosts to the Baltimore Bombers (1-0) in a thrilling battle that Baltimore took, 10-9.

The Maryland league has quite a few familiar names to box lacrosse fans. Baltimore, in particular, having household names, Tony Millon and Jordan Hall. Hardcore box fans know the Maryland netminder, Brian Kusterer.
In a very clean game which revealed a combined three penalties, and a one-shot advantage, 18-17 for the Bombers, it was no surprise it would be a one-goal game. Grant Maloof led the Arrows with three markers. Scott Prestridge chipped in a pair. To show the balance of their offense, Miles Kane, Demetri Rosette, Luke Hallman each added a goal.

Kyle Worsley led Baltimore and all goal scorers with a four-goal contest. Thomas Bethune and Quinn Tallent both hit rope twice with Josh Sanchez. Former Philadelphia box laxer, Ben Todd adding goals to account for the 10-9 margin.
“It was surprising we played so well together for only having a few practices, we have a long way to go but That win against a good team has put us in the right direction” Bomber Tony Millon pointed out.
As we mentioned shots on goal were 18-17 with Kusterer stopping 8 matching Ian Callahan also stopping 8 in the Bombers net. Neither team capitalized on the man advantage with the Bombers 0 for 1 and the Arrows 0-2. Stick with LaxPhilly/Edge of Philly Sports all season long as we will not only cover the Bombers but the rest of the leagues thru out the US. The 2021 IBLA season kicked off in style.
