Viktor Hovland played some special golf this weekend. He moved up the leaderboard on Saturday and by the 6th hole on Sunday had taken the lead. You can see why at ( 27-1 ) after round one he was worth an investment. It would be on that same 6th hole where the tournament slipped away. Hovland either was mid clubbed or had a mental lapse leaving his approach on six 10 yards short of the green. The problem was that it landed in a pond costing him not only a stroke but all of his momentum.
Hovland just did not look the same after and by the 14th hole was playing for a top 5 finish. Extremely respectable and profitable if you took him in that top 5 or even top 10. We had him to win. Even with the loss we still are riding the wave of last week’s PGA earnings as well as a clean sweep of UFC action Saturday night. We are up well over 40 units for the past 3 weeks but will start a new on July 23rd when baseball returns. Before that, we have the Memorial next weekend at that same track Muirfield. Tiger Woods makes his return which will be jam-packed with the world’s best. Check back Wednesday for our predictions as well as after round one.
Also we are excited to get the daily picks going again in a few weeks. We are hoping baseball followed by basketball, hockey then football will give everyone a chance to cash in. We are also working on a preview show at Edge of Philly on Friday evenings previewing all of the weekend action. Stay tuned for details.
