The Day After. The Eagles traded Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for CB Tay Gowan and a 5th round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The news hit hard. We knew it was coming sooner or later. When you first hear it you think, “Dammit, Why God Why”. Then you run through all the emotions. Sadness, anger, resentment, and then finally acceptance. Once again, all while knowing it was bound to happen.
The fact is Zach Ertz will always be an Eagle. No matter how far the distance between Arizona and Philadelphia. Zach is a genuine person who was always willing and able to help whether it was within the community or on the gridiron in front of 65+ thousand screaming fans. Many of which in a #86 Eagles jersey.
Although, it will for sure be odd seeing Zach wearing the colors of another team. We undoubtedly wish him the best of luck and know we will see him once again wear that midnight green when he decides to hang up the cleats.
