The First Weekend of NCAA Lax. The 2021 NCAA DI Season kicked off with three additional games.
Bellarmine (1-1) challenged the Utah Utes (1-1) in a contest that Utah handles, 12-7. Utah was led by Jordan Hyde with his 4 goal game… followed closely with a 3 goal 1 assist game from Tyler Bradbury. Ramsey McCready was the playmaker with 3 apples and a goal. Bellarmine received a two-goal affair from Brandon Trout who was aided singles from, Kyle Playsted, James Whiteford, and Brayden Brown. Whiteford and Brown each picked up helpers despite the defeat.
We move to the Mercer (1-1) game against Lenior-Rhyne hook up. This was all Mercer who dominated with a 17-4 cakewalk. Mercer was gifted with three goals one assist games from, Collin Stewart, Will McCarthy, and Nick McGuire to lead the way.
In the marquee match up, #6 Virginia (1-0) got the best of the Towson Tigers (0-1) with an offensive deluge. Payton Cormier (6g,1a), Connor Shellenberger (4g,3a) and Charlie Bertrand (4-2) supplied the goals in the 20-11 Virginia victory. Brody McLean and James Avanzato each registered hat tricks for Towson.

A published writer in JustHockey Magazine, Kevin covered the American Hockey League as well as a monthly story on a pugilist where Kevin used the pen name, The Rink Rat. Neibauer turned his attentions to lacrosse for a few years and does his part, whether podcasting or writing to grow the game. Kevin branched out to his roots and currently provides insight for all Philadelphia teams for Edge of Philly as well as his full-time duties with LaxPhilly.
