The Future for the Eagles at Center. Jason Kelce just signed a one-year deal worth $14 million dollars making him the highest-paid center in the league. Absolutely 100% well deserved. With that said, the Eagles would be smart to draft his sooner than later replacement and early in the draft. In fact, there is a center in this coming draft whose NFL comparison is Jason Kelce.
Iowa Hawkeyes, Center: Tyler Linderbaum
A bit undersized, much like Jason Kelce, for a Center. What he lacks in size he makes for in pure freak athleticism. Linderbaum was originally recruited to play Defensive Tackle before making the switch to the Hawkeyes’ Offensive Line.
Since jumping to the offensive side of the ball, Tyler has started in 33 games and was named the 2021 Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Linderbaum shows explosive strength and speed off the line. Not to mention, was remarkable in Iowa’s zone running scheme. Adding a Center whose major attributes are in the run game makes all too much sense. A perfect match for the Eagles if you will.
Tyler is undoubtedly first-round talent. The ‘creme of the crop’ at the interior offensive line position. Outside of the few left tackles that will fly off the board in the top 10. The Iowa product will have many eyes on him. I can only hope he makes it as far as midway through the first round.
I personally have been on the Tyler Linderbaum bandwagon for quite some time now. Big Ten Football is the conference I pay most attention to. He has been at the top of my wishlist from day one. Pairing Linderbaum up with Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson for years to come would be an ‘OLine’ made in heaven. Games are won in the trenches.
