The Injury Bugs Are Taking A Toll On The 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers enter tonight’s game dealing with a handful of injuries, missing Nic Batum, De’Anthony Melton, Joel Embiid, and Tobias Harris. Philly’s faced an uphill battle going against the Brooklyn Nets. Tyrese Maxey played well with 23 points and just found ways to the rim. Patrick Beverley had 9 assists in this game. He was very sharp. Trying to be the 76er’s spark plug off the bench. Patrick Beverley made the one assist that was sick! He looks to take the ball for a drive, stops, and turns around, finding Danuel House JR and coming down the lane for an easy bucket. Unfortunately, in this game, the injury bugs are taking a toll on the Sixers.

Catching A Brooklyn Beatdown

The Brooklyn Nets could smell blood in the water with Philly dealing with the injury bug. New York brought their A-game tonight, making 20 three-pointers. They were creating their shot with good, defiant ball movement. Cam Thomas dropped 40 points. Just was too much for the 76ers defense to handle. Cam Thomas and Mikal Bridges combined 10 3s from beyond the arch. The former Villanova Wildcat Mikal Bridges had 23 points in this game. Nic Claxton is taking full advantage of the paint with 15rebounds. Lonnie Walker is making a big impact off the bench for Brooklyn with 20 points.

A Diamond In The Rough

When the chips were down for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets kept Philly at a 20-point lead for the bulk of this game. However, The 76ers found hope, maybe a diamond in the rough. One Terquavion Smith, a rookie guard under ten minutes, makes a huge splash, shooting 5-6 from the perimeter, and also has a nasty layup. He put up 17 points. I am now wondering if Nick Nurse will use him as a go-to piece off the bench come Monday against The Dallas Mavericks to see if he can unload from three-point land again. We’ll have to see each other on Monday.
