The Memorial

The PGA tour comes right back to Murfield this weekend at the Memorial. The field is full of the very best in the world. There are at least 15 players you could justify winning this week. Or will it be someone from the back of the rankings that climbs up? Golf is already the most difficult sport to find an outright winner but when you stack the deck with all aces the picture becomes even more cloudy.

When all of the research shook out we are going to with Brooks Koepka. First off to get Koepka at 30 to 1 is a price I cannot ignore. Aside from the value, there were technical reasons.

Koepka had a horrible start to last weeks event which was right here at the same course. When you take out that first day and a half Koepka finished strong going 6 under on the final 31 holes. He was not scheduled to play this coming week but decided to enter at the last minute.

Although they are playing the same course, technically it will not play the same as it did last week. The rough will be higher and some holes longer. Koepka shines the most under these circumstances. Then the course will have more of a US Open feel.

In this sport, any one of 133 players could potentially catch fire and win. But at 30-1 we are rolling with Koepka to get things back on track. We also took him at 3-1 to finish in the top 10.

Long Shots After Round 1

Kevin Steelman is a great golfer who is just wildly inconsistent. But when he is hot he hits the ball as good as anyone in the world ( 65-1 ).

Abraham Ancer has three straight top 15 finishes. Did anyone know this? ( 50-1 )
