The Phillies continue to add to their minor league player pool. One name sticks out though. On Tuesday, the Phillies acquire another one of Bryce’s buddies, Aaron Barrett.
The right-handed pitcher was a part of the Washington Nationals organization since 2010. Dombrowski signs Barrett to a minor league deal with a real shot to join the big club. The Phillies need relievers and are not leaving any stone unturned.
Plagued with injuries for a handful of seasons, Barrett made his way back to the majors in 2019 the year in which the Nationals won the World Series (jerks).
Back to the minors, where the injury bug struck again. However, at age 34, Barrett did show signs of life in 2021 when healthy with an ERA of 2.13 in 38 innings pitched.
