The Phillies Sweep the Detriot Tigers

The Philadelphia Phillies seem to be getting their groove back. The recently struggling bats have come alive, and the pitching is crisper than ever. They use all these tools to sweep the Detriot Tigers.

Monday Night was Raw

Monday night’s game had a lot of good things come out of it. Aaron Nola pitched 7 innings giving up one hit and 3 runs. He also racked up 7 strikeouts and 3 walks. Trea Turner had a banner night. Turner ended up going 4 for 5 with 2 home runs.

Nick Maton accounted for all Detroit’s runs with one swing hitting a 3-run homer. It was something for the feels. It must have felt good for him to be able to do that at Citizens Bank Park. He and Matt Veirling received their National League Championship rings earlier that night.

Nick Maton Homer’s in the top of the 7th to cut the Phillies’ lead to 5 to 3. Bottom of the 7th, JT Realmuto drives in Harper and Turner and gives the Phillies a 7 to 3 lead. Sosa would double in Realmuto the Phillies would lead 8 to 3. That’s how the game would end, and that would make 3 to row for the Phils.

He went 7 strong innings with 7 Ks and 3 walks. Seranthony Dominguez pitched a scoreless 8th.  Craig Kimbrel would close out the 9th. That makes 4 in a row for the Phightin Phils.

The Tigers would respond in the top of the 8th when Zach gave up a single, allowing Jake Marshnick to score, tying the score at 1-1. The Tigers would go ahead in the top of the 9th inning. That’s now five wins in a row for the Phils. The LA Dodgers come to town. After being swept the last time, the Phillies will surely be looking for payback.
