The Predators Nip the Flyers in OT

The Flyers (22-22-10) are 1-1-1 on their four-game homestand. They’ve scored just three goals in the three games and have surrendered five. Not really a recipe for winning. That is why the Nashville Predators nip the Philadelphia Flyers in OT.

Action in the Second

The first period was not easy to watch. There was not much action. This was not as disciplined as a game against the Oilers. The only action was from the crowd singing “Fly Eagles Fly.” Tanner Jeannot can fight and he was talking to Nicolas Deslauriers. A very physical first period ended with tempers flaring. Jeannot and Delauriers had come nose-to-nose at the end of the first period.

The second period got started with a bang just 13 seconds in. Tanner Jeannot and Nicolas Deslauriers finally drop the gloves. Just 1:43 into the second, Nino Niederreiter puts one behind Carter Hart to put Nashville up 1-0. M. Duchene (25) and Cody Glass (12) had the assist. At the 10:40 marker in the second, Kevin Hayes scores his 17th goal to tie it at 1-1 with Joel Farbee (17) and Patrick Brown (4) tallying up an assist.

The Flyers must have stayed in the locker room because Nashville carried the play the whole 3rd period. Lucky for Carter Hart the post was his friends today. It could have been 5-1 very easily. The third period ends scoreless, and both teams see some extra hockey in overtime. It was not too much extra hockey. Matt Duchene scores 34 seconds into overtime to end this one. That is why the Nashville Predators nip the Philadelphia Flyers in OT.
