The Philadelphia Eagles and the Kanas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football was everything we anticipated. It would be with both teams coming off byes and huge wins before their bye week. The Chiefs won over the Miami Dolphins in Germany, and the Eagles won over the Dallas Cowboys. This matchup turned into the Swift show that Travis Kelce did not want.
All the storylines were in place. Both teams are at the top of their respective conferences in the Super Bowl rematch. The Kelce brothers were squaring off. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid would square off against his old team. Like many of the Eagles’ games, this game came down to the wire. The Eagles made all the proper adjustments in the second half and won this game in the trenches.

Hungry Dogs Run Faster
It seems like the running game of the Philadelphia Eagles was ineffective in the last several weeks. Tonight is a bit of a different story. Eagles running back. Swift was a major X-factor in the offensive playbook. D’Andre Swift gave the Kanas City fan base the Swift show they did not want.
D’ Andre Swift was very explosive in the run game. He would hit the right holes and take big chunks of yardage out of this Chiefs defense. Swift had 12 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown out of the backfield. He also had a couple of nice catches, one of which was for 20 yards. It was a hard-fought battle at the line of scrimmage.

Defenses Wins Games
The Kanas City Chiefs’ defense in the first half gave the Eagle’s offensive line a lot of problems. They were pressuring Jalen Hurts, sacking him, causing him to scramble in the pocket. Jalen would have a difficult time finding his wideouts open. Kansas City’s defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, was throwing all sorts of different defensive formations and holding the Eagles’ offense to 7 points.
However, it is a tale of two halves. The Eagles offense started to come around. What kept the Eagles in this game was their defense, for sure. Hasson Reddick set the tone with a huge sack, and then Patrick Mahomes hit level with nine hits. The Eagles’ defense didn’t allow the Chiefs to score in the second half. That is a feat that many could not say in the Mamhomes / Reid era.
