The up and down Flyers were down again, 6-3. A season-long pattern of a stinker game right after a good game with the Philadelphia Flyers getting schooled, again, by the Washington Capitals.

At least they scored three times! Rookie Wade Allison notched his first NHL goal, and surprise! It was on the Power Play. One of the prettier goals of the season, pretty passing, and Allison nearly shot it through the net! He was not missing his chance. Claude Giroux picked up two assists with JVR and Ivan Provorov each adding a goal.
The Flyers were shorthanded with injuries to Carter Hart, Nolan Patrick, and Tanner Laczynski. The result was Alex Lyon in the net. Lyon wasn’t great but considering the circumstances, he wasn’t horrible either. Lyon faced 40 shots. That is one big workload for a guy who wasn’t expected to play.
Flyer killer, Ovi Ovechkin scored a pair of goals from his usual position, hovering between the circles. Newly acquired Anthony Mantha added his third goal in his three Caps games. John Carlson had a big game and was in a giving mood with four assists.
Ilya Samsonov stopped 22 Flyers shots.
This much we know, with the pattern they have set, the next game for Philadelphia will be an “up” game. The up and down Flyers were down again.
