The Waterdogs Have Everything But The Finish

The Philadelphia Waterdogs have everything down but finishing out games as they let another W slip out of their hands in overtime in back-to-back games. This time it would be the Maryland Whipsnakes that would snatch victory away from Philly, winning 15-14. Both teams needed to find out how to get into the win column. However, the hometown kid Matt Rambo gets the job done for Maryland. I give a lot of credit to Philly for playing down to the wire in both games on their Homecoming Weekend. However, for me the doubleheader took its toll as the Waterdogs looked out of gas on defense by the end of this game. As a result, Maryland created scoring opportunities with spacing on the field, especially from the perimeter.

The Toughest Dog On The Team

Michael Sowers is the star of this Waterdogs team and the toughest dog on the squad. He was a playmaker throughout the course of this weekend, racking up a total of 11 points. At times, Sowers was also willing to throw his gloves down with his opponent, whether to stick up for teammates or chirping the opponents. One thing is for sure – Michael Sowers wasn’t backing down. However, the Waterdogs still sit in last place in the Eastern Conference at 0-3. With only 10 games in the season, it remains to be seen if Sowers and this Philly team can turn things around, starting against the Carolina Chaos two weekends from now in Minneapolis.

The Whipsnakes Getting Their First W of The Season

The Whipsnakes getting their first win of the season. This can be a confidence booster with Maryland’s entire offense contributing, finding the back of the net or coming up with the assist. Add in several players who can unload from the outside the arc like Matt Dunn and TJ Malone. This Maryland team was finding holes in the Waterdogs defense and making them pay the piper for it. Now with some confidence running through Maryland’s locker room we’ll see if they can put a stop to the undefeated New York Atlas in two weeks.
