The Wildcat Core

The Philadelphia 76ers head out to New York City to face the Knicks. The 76ers are coming out on this one on the short end of the stick. The Knicks at that Villanova Wildcat playoff March Madness vibe from years ago, with Jalen Brunson putting up 22 points, was good at creating his shots. Josh Hart also dropped 22 points with 4 three-pointers, and Vince DiVincenzo was sharp through the course of this game as well, but the Knicks having Miles McBride off the bench and unloading 5 from three-point land was huge for New York. The Knicks would take game 1 of the NBA playoffs. Let’s see if they can put the Philadelphia 76ers on the ropes by going up 2-0 in the series.

The Knee Buckle Heard From MSG

Just when everything looked to be on cruise control for Joel Embiid (The 76ers center) in the first quarter alone, Joel Embiid stacked up 15 points, hitting a pull-pointer and being a monster in the paint. However, things got ugly for the big man late in the 2nd quarter as he was giving himself an alley-oop off the backboard, and his knee buckled the same knee he had just had surgery on. Joel Embiid would leave the court, and right at the beginning of the 3rd quarter, he would make his return and finish the game with 29 points.

Kyle Lowry Jr and Tyrese Maxey Battling Through Adversity

Kyle Lowry and Tyrese Maxey battled through adversity, with Joel Embiid trying to fight through his leg injury. Both Kyle Lowry and Tyrese Maxey played very well in this game. Kyle Lowry was able to get himself open, whether creating space or getting open off-the-set screenplays. Kyle Lowry hit four buckets from beyond the arch. Tyrese Maxey played extremely well, taking the ball to the rim and passing out in transition.
