Throwback Thursday…This week is #66 Jake Bergey

Born May 4th, 1974 in Covington, Kentucky.

NLL career:

Drafted 38th overall by the Philadelphia Wings in 1997.

1998-2002 Philadelphia Wings 2003 was out with a knee injury

2004-2006 Philadelphia Wings

2007 Drafted by Boston in the expansion draft, then traded back to Philadelphia for 2 late round picks

2007-2008 Philadelphia Wings

After the Boston Blazers sat out the 2008 season, there was another expansion draft, and again Bergey was picked by Boston. However, in 2009 he was traded back to Philadelphia for a conditional draft pick so that he could retire as a member of the Philadelphia Wings (the only NLL team he ever played for).

Won 2 Champions Cups,1998 and 2001, with the Philadelphia Wings.

Was an alternate captain from 2001 to 2007, and wore the “C” in 2004 for Philadelphia.

Playoffs:GP 9, G 13, A 17, Pts. 30, LB 39, PM 8.

Retired February 5th, 2009.

MLL career:

2001-2002 Rochester Rattlers

2003 Batimore Bayhawks In 2003 he was limited to only one game due to a knee injury that also forced him to miss the entire 2003 NLL season.

Playoffs:GP 1, G 2, A 0, Pts. 2, LB 4, PM 0.

Jake was a first team All-American in 1995, 96, & 97 with Salisbury University, helping the team win it’s second-ever NCAA Division III National title in 1995.
