Turn off the lights on the Flyers. Philly drops a devastating 6-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils that all but ends playoff aspirations. The Flyers didn’t go down without a fight and two comebacks in the third period were not quite enough.

MacKenzie Blackwood stopped 26 Philadelphia shots and Yegor Sharangovich, Nico Hishier, Pavel Zacha, Miles Wood and Connor Carrick supplied the offense. Brian Elliott had 21 saves with goals from Oskar Lindblom, Phillips Myers, Claude Giroux, and Sean Couturier.
Wood got it to a 3-1 after the second but, Lindblom scored to cut it to 3-2. Giroux knotted it up before Carrick put it to 4-3 with Couturier answering. Sharangovich, at 12:36, supplied the eventual game-winner off a broken play that Elliott mishandled.
The game-winner came just :11 after Couturier had got it even. Myer’s goal was his first in 37 games. New Jersey put up a pair of power-play goals and snapped their 10 games losing streak. Turn off the lights on the Flyers.
