Union Continue Their Winning Ways

CHESTER, Pa. (Oct. 28, 2020) – The Philadelphia Union beat Chicago Fire 2-1 at home on Wednesday night at Subaru Park. With the win, the Union remain in first place in the Eastern Conference with 44 points and are unbeaten at home this season with eight consecutive home wins. In the first half, Kacper Przybylko scored the Union’s 500th regular season goal from the penalty spot. In the 36’, Chicago Fire’s Francisco Calvo was ejected from the match, giving the Union a man advantage going into the second half. Olivier Mbaizo found Cory Burke in the 65th minute which would prove to be the game winner.

The Union continue to build on their franchise record of consecutive wins at home, now with eight… they are the only team to remain undefeated at home this season.

Goalkeeper Joe Bendik made his first appearance for the Union in the 90thminute coming in for the injured Andre Blake.

The Union are away at MAPFRE Stadium on November 1st where they will face Columbus Crew SC. (3:30 p.m. ET / ABC).
