The up and down Phillies get smoked, 9-4. After an inspiring victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, it was a different story Saturday with another lackluster performance from the Philly boys.

Bryce Harper was a scratch due to injury and things got worse from there. The Phils put up a six-run second inning on Friday and were matched by the Cards on Saturday. Matt Moore (2.2 innings, 4 hits, 5 ER, 5 walks, and 3 strikeouts) got torched in this one.
Jadier Molina went deep twice and added a double that totaled a 4 RBI game. Nolan Arenado and Pat Delong also went yard for the Cards. Rhys Hoskins continues to have a hot hand and had 3 hits with 3 RBI’s and was complimented by Alec Bohm and his 2 runs batted in.
The Phils bullpen went 6.1 innings allowing 7 hits with 3 walks and 3 earned runs while striking out 8. The two teams battle it out again on Sunday. The up and down Phillies get smoked. For more Phillies coverage click here.
