Atlas falls to 2-6, but are still one game ahead of last place Chrome for the #7 playoff seed.

Walker and Sowers set the tone early

Waterdogs came out of the gate hungry, outscoring Atlas 6-3 in the opening frame. Dresher, PA native Michael Sowers led the way for Waterdogs, tallying a hat trick. Ethan Walker would assist on one of the Sowers goals, as well as a marker from Jake Higgins. Jack Hannah also scored twice. Atlas countered with a pair of goals from Trevor Baptiste directly off faceoff wins, and a dunk from Denver native Eric Law.

Walker opened the second quarter by increasing Waterdogs’ lead to 7-3. Law netted his second, before Baptiste ran through the Atlas defense like a juggernaut for a third time and tallied his first career hat trick. Goals from Jeff Conner and Ryan Conrad pushed the Waterdogs lead back to four before Law secured his hat trick to make it a 9-6 game at the half.

Walker takes over in fourth quarter

Atlas cut the deficit to one in the third quarter, with goals by Jeff Teat and Myles Jones, recently acquired in a trade with Redwoods. However, Waterdogs went on a four-goal run to open the fourth quarter. Kieran McArdle scored a natural hat trick. Walker assisted on the last of those goals, then scored his second of the game, giving Waterdogs a 13-8 lead. Xander Dickson broke the run for Atlas, but Walker found the net again to make it 14-9. Dickson and Bryan Costabile scored in the final minute, but Atlas have now lost five of their last six games.
