PLL action continued with the Archers (4-4) facing the Whipsnakes (7-1) in the last game of the weekend from Denver, Colorado.
The goalie match-up had Brett Dobson in net for the Archers facing Kyle Bernlohr in net for the Whipsnakes.
Matt Rambo (4g, 0a), Brad Smith (3g,1a), Zed Williams (2g,2a), and Mike Chanenchuk (2g,1a) led the way for the Whipsnakes offensively. On the other side of the ball, the ‘Whips were able to hold Connor Fields (1g,1a), Tom Schreiber (0g,2a), Jeff Trainor (1g,0a), and Matt Moore (1g,0a), to minimal damage enroute to a 13-11 victory. Marcus Holman (1g, 1-2 pt. g, 1a), Grant Ament (2g,1a), and Ryan Ambler (2g,0a) led the way for the Archers offense.
To The Game:
The Archers started quickly with Matt Moore converting a Tom Schreiber pass at 1:06, but were answered back immediately by Joey Nardella off the faceoff 0:04 seconds later. Brad Smith gave the lead to the Whipsnakes with a blast that beat Brett Dobson at 1:28. Marcus Holman tied it for the Archers converting a Will Manny pass at 4:36.
Zed Williams gave the lead back to the Whipsnakes blasting a shot at 5:38, but Connor Fields answered back off a Marcus Holman pass at 7:08. Matt Rambo scored coming out from behind the net at 8:55, but Grant Ament tied the game up at 10:17. Rambo scored again off a beautiful individual effort coming from behind, then doing it all himself at 11:09.
After one quarter, Whipsnakes 5 Archers 4.
Second Quarter:
The Whipsnakes dominated play in this quarter, pulling away for good in the game. Brad Smith scored his second of the game off a Zed Williams pass at 0:26 seconds. Matt Rambo scored his third of the game at 5:12, followed by Brad Smith’s third goal of the game off a Mike Chanenchuk pass feed at 9:02.
Grant Ament scored off a Tom Schreiber pass at 10:22 to narrow the ‘Whips lead to just three goals heading to the half.
At the half, Whipsnakes 8 Archers 5.

Third Quarter:
Zed Williams opened the second half scoring restoring the Whipsnakes four goal lead at 2:15, but two goals from the Archers tightened things up. Jeff Trainor scored off a Will Manny feed at 6:28, followed by Ryan Ambler scoring at 8:51.
Matt Rambo scored at 10:37, followed by Mike Chanenchuk scoring on the power play off a Bryan Cole feed at 11:30 giving the Whipsnakes some breathing room to start the fourth quarter.
After three quarters, Whipsnakes 11 Archers 7.
Fourth Quarter:
Mike Chanenchuk gave the Whipsnakes a commanding five goal lead to open the fourth quarter off a Zed Williams pass at 2:43, but Ryan Ambler answered back for the Archers at 3:28. Keegan Kahn blasted a shot off a Brad Smith pass at 5:39 to again restore the five goal lead.
The Archers mounted a comeback. Marcus Holman fired a two point goal off a Connor Fields pass at 9:21, followed by Will Manny scoring a power play goal off a Grant Ament fees 0:22 seconds later.
Final score, Whipsnakes 13 Archers 11.

Gary Groob has been involved with Lacrosse for the majority of his life, whether playing, coaching, or covering the sport for the media.
An avid fan, with a real drive about helping to “grow the game”, Gary became part of podcasts about the game in 2010. Through the podcasts, Mr. Groob was given an opportunity to write about lacrosse, and the rest as they say, is history.
Through many miles (flying and driving) Gary has made inroads with the National Lacrosse League, Major Series Lacrosse League, the Ontario Lacrosse Association, as well as the Arena Lacrosse League, covering the leagues, their teams, and players, working for, and in concert with all of them.
In the year 2020, Mr. Groob was made the media person for the Arena Lacrosse League, voted onto the board of directors of the Brampton Excelsiors Lacrosse Club, as well as being made administrator of the Lacrosse page “Global Lacrosse” with a membership of 9000 members in over 90 Countries. Gary was also made an administrator of Lacrosse History Past Present and Future in 2022.
Mr. Groob co-hosts a weekly Lacrosse show on Spanglish Sports World, and ZingoTV channel 250, as well as writes a weekly lacrosse column for La Portada Canada News (both in print, and online).
Gary also hosts a Lacrosse talk show and podcast for The Edge of Philly Sports Network, seen live Sunday nights at 9pm (ET), and archived on the Edge of Philly YouTube page, as well as Spotify.
Mr. Groob’s other sports interests include Hockey, Football, Boxing, Wrestling, and Baseball, competing competitively in Boxing and Wrestling for many years.
