Zach Higgins Holding Down The Fort

The Philadelphia Wings would host The Calgary Roughnecks for a home-and-home series. This was a revenge game for Philly.

The Wings were off to a bad start on the defensive side of the ball where Philly looked like they were miscommunicating with each other on the floor. Isaiah Davis-Allen would take a holding penalty as there was frustration on the Wings defense being down 5-2 and facing a lot of shots. Calgary would outshoot Philly 19 to 9 by the end of the first.

However after that for the next 3 quarters, Zach Higgins was holding down the fort, making some incredible saves. He kept Calgary from hitting the double-digit mark. Higgins was in lock-down mode. He helped Philly to their first home win of the season. In my opinion, Zach Higgins was the game’s MVP.

Sam LeClair Looking Like John LeClair Down In South Philly.

In the first half of play, Sam LeClair was Philly’s offensive workhorse as he recorded a hat-trick. LeClair had a short-handed goal. He would make some nice cuts getting open down low near the opposing net, getting balls past Roughnecks’ goaltender Christian Del Bianco. LeClair looked like the former Philadelphia Flyer John LeClair out there after being down early in the first quarter.

The Wings would get some momentum in the second getting it close being down a point 7-6 at the half.

In the fourth quarter, the Wings took over this game. Joe Resetarits made some great plays cutting to the net, making great passes while in double coverage. The one play that sticks out is Resetarits getting a rebound off the cross-bar and making a goal.

Tyler Pace Being A Headcase For The Wings

The Calgary Roughnecks were looking to win their second straight game against Philly. The Roughnecks offense was pouring on early finding holes in the Wings defense as Tyler Pace wound up with a hat-trick.

The one power-play goal he put up was with an open lane from the top of the key to use basketball terms and Tyler Pace would just rifle that one in. Jesse King would be an excellent facilitator in this game. Tanner Cook did a nice job of picking his shots as well. Calgary will look to get back in the win column against the Swarm in Georgia this Friday.
